The treasures of the undergrowth

    An evocative autumn weekend in the great forest of Italy to discover and collect the various species of mushrooms present on this bio-diverse territory. The excursion and the collection will be accompanied by workshops where the various species will be classified, identified and studied; moreover, through cooking lessons it will be possible to discover the secrets of traditional recipes and learn how to cook these delicacies, taking full advantage of their taste.

    Itinerary

    Arrival and welcoming in Sila, meet your group leader and check-in to your accommodation facility. In the afternoon visit the mountain village, craft shops and local specialties. Return to your accommodation facility for the mycological workshop. Dinner and overnight stay.

    Full day dedicated to foraging for mushrooms in the extraordinary natural environment, led by an expert mycologist and Sila National Park guide; lunch in your accommodation facility.  In the evening participate in cooking workshop on the preparation and conservation of mushrooms. Dinner and overnight stay.

    In the morning mycological excursion; lunch in the accommodation facility; departure in the afternoon

    Clothing and useful equipment:

    • waterproof, breathable and windproof jacket
    • a heavy and a medium-weight fleece top
    • hiking socks and boots
    • sun hat with a visor
    • 30 L backpack
